Steel socket head screws are set in a counter bore for a flush mount and provide clamping force to firmly hold the upper and lower slider shafts in place. Like our original design, the shift throw distance and shift knob height are independently adjustable and both can easily be adjusted with the shifter installed in the vehicle.
"Designed using CAD technology, the COBB Black anodized billet shifter body is CNC machined from 6061 Aluminum. This shifter has a "narrow barrel" and is for use in cars that came with the Subaru factory short-shifter option. This shifter has a "wide barrel" and is for use in cars that did not come with the Subaru factory short-shifter option. The tall shifter stands about 2" higher than the normal Double Adjustable Shifter. If your shifter fork width is 1.435", you will need the Wide Barrel Shifter, or the TALL Wide Barrel Shifter. If your shifter fork width is 1.155", you will need the Narrow Barrel Shifter. If it is dark gray, then it is the factory wide barrel style and you should use 212315. If your factory shifter has a gold zinc plated lever, it is a narrow barrel style and you should use 211315. If your factory shifter has a dark gray lever, it is a factory wide barrel style and this shifter will fit. If your factory shifter has a gold zinc plated lever, it is a factory short narrow barrel style and this shifter will fit.
